Sugar is an addiction similar to heroin. Seriously. It's very similar.
The key is not to have it in the house.
After you go several days without it it loses much of it's appeal.
The other key is to have easy prepped meat snacks ready to eat.
When prepping one prep a lot and refrigerate them.
Make a roast and slice it thinly and leave small portion in separate plastic bags and freeze them. Bring one out at a time to the refrigerator. When you want a snack take out a piece and eat it cold with salt or nuke it and eat it warm.
Or if you are lazy then buy bags of tiny slim Jim's and small cans of Vienna sausages that take no prep.
Processed meat like slim Jim's and anything canned probably aren't much better than sugar. All of the preservatives and lowest quality meat they use are begging for heart disease.
It's not necessarily low-cost meat. Meat processing has a lot of "scrap" meat that is saved and used in things like hamburger, slim jims, etc. The preservatives and any fillers are another matter.
Also, if you go to a local butcher they may have 'home-made' processed meat products like slim jims. They are more expensive, but you're paying for meat instead of nigger foreskins.
I've been happy with just some ice cream but.... maybe you're onto something, what does something like that cost? ...I mean for the 3-4 months of horse?
I just mean it’s possible to successfully moderate sugar in your diet. I’m not a dietitian and it’s not easy, but I’ve maintained a very limited sugar intake for 3-4months. No extra cost of any kind
I used to crave ice cream like a jew craves money, but through the assiduous use of discipline I made myself avoid it. Now, I no longer crave it and don't find anything special about it when I do occasionally have some.
No matter how poor it might be, what level of discipline do you think you have?
Like there’s an infinite number of suggestions for this problem, but it has to be something you’ll actually do. That’s your 1st challenge before anything imo.
I got out of shape for a few years when I was younger and just couldn’t beat the cravings for certain shit food. The only thing I found I could do consistently was just eating once a day. It took 3-4 days before the choice of what I ate was 100% made for me. Once I knew I had the 1 meal a day discipline locked down, there essentially was no choice, that meal had to be super nutrient rich or id be physically ill. And I created a very strong drive to determine a healthy food to eat each time. Most healthy foods weren’t even dense enough, it was basically red meat and certain greens.
Only took 3-4 weeks of that and I dropped a bunch of weight and I could start doing a small 2nd meal but shit cravings were totally gone and I hated the feeling of being full. So the 2nd meal, or just snacks were usually like smoothies or wheat grass shots or something.
Deprogramming your brain will take some time. It's okay to take small steps as long as you keep heading in the right direction.
E.g., raw bacon is pretty dang gross but fry it up and even a vegan muslim would have a hard time saying no. Once you get used to it, you might then realize that bacon is usually full of preservatives and switch to uncured meats most of the time. But then you can still have bacon as an occasional treat.
A mental trick?: Try to think of lipids as lubricant for your joints, etc. Think of carbs/sugars as sand that will grind your insides down with inflamation.
Eventually, you'll begin to notice that the best meals were the ones that left a thin sheen of lipids on the plate. Then, you'll get a better sense of proportion and how to achieve it reliably. From there, with your hunger satisfied and weight coming under control, you can focus on proteins and gains.
I can be thirsty. I want juice or pop. I don't want plain old water. But if I drink the water I won't be thirsty anymore. And 5 minutes after drinking the water, I won't remember or care what I drank earlier.
It's the same with food. Eat something good for you. A week later, the only reason you'll remember what you ate is because you're suffering the consequences of eating something unhealthy, or reaping the rewards of eating something healthy.
You crave flavor, but in a day, or in 5 minutes, you won't be hungry or thirsty and you won't even remember what you had.
To reset your palate and craving for junk food, I recommend the potatoes "diet". For 1-2 weeks (10 days is OK)... Eat only potatoes, no joke, no salt or anything else. Just cook potatoes and eat as much as you want (nobody eats a lot because of the neutral taste, especially without salt) After 1 week, you will see that your cravings are not as commanding in your body.. And if you go from potatoes to normal food with normal season, you will appreciate more. Just don't binge eat junk food and you'll be fine.

It’s unusual but it worked for me.

Other gateway lipids: whole milk, butter, avocado, olive oil (e.g., sauteed vegetables).
A mental trick?: Try to think of lipids as lubricant for your joints, etc. Think of carbs/sugars as sand that will grind your insides down with inflamation.
