The remark was completely out of the blue, Joe just started telling a grown man to be in bed “between 9 and 12 or he won’t show up” and Jill immediately claimed that the remark was “not to you” but to the kids, which is interesting because the only child mentioned was a two year old.
The addition of the “in person” bit is a bullshit lie — it’s meant to be conflated with the remark Joe made to the caller. He might’ve been trained to say it to numerous kids that day and just chose an inopportune time to repeat it — to a grown man. All that shows is that he’s mentally gone.
