That film was a Hollywood remake of a British film, made in 1940 and directed by Thorold Dickinson, which was based on an earlier stage play, written by Patrick Hamilton. At the time, both the British film industry and British theaters weren't infested by jews. They had all moved to Hollywood by this time because that's where the money was to be made.
