What the f*** happened to Voat and the internet? We went from searching for the truth and attacking lies to sharing stupid memes and dumb opinions.

Longtime Voat user and lurker with different usernames over the years. Came over around the Pizzagate times. Ate all the red pills around 2015, but never stopped learning and searching for truth. Follower of Christ and REAL Christianity (not fake zio-Christianity). First post with new voat (Talk.Lol)

Question for you old fags: What the fuck happened? We were an army of truth seekers in 2015, 16, 17, 18... Think Pizzagate and the original exodus over to Voat from reddit. But things slowly began to change. The alt internet and all of the "alt" personalities are just fake and gay. Everyone shares stupid opinions and dumb memes. They are all cringe and lame. It feels like everything is dead and totally pointless. The front page of this place sucks. It's just dumb memes, jokes, screenshots, etc. It's like a hamster running around on a wheel. It's totally harmless and poses no threat to anyone. It poses no threat to the establishment and Jew World Order. It's pointless, boring, meaningless, and impotent. It's a circle jerk.

Anybody remember the targeted Stormer troll raids of 2015 and 2016? We were like a digital army that had power to undermine the narrative in real time. It was real and it felt amazing. But it's all different now. It’s gone.

So what the fuck happened? We have truth on our side. The establishment and ruling class is held up by lies and power. We can strike at that power by exposing and attacking the lies. But it's all different now. Nobody cares. Everyone shares dumb opinions and stupid memes, rather than seeking truth and going on the attack against the lies. It's like everything has been taken over and hijacked to be a pointless circle jerk. What happened? How did we get here?

I'm with you. It's considerably less vulgar, but it's currently being spammed by two bad actors, Leafa and ourpenileresident (that's how I'm going to refer to him). The latter posts dozens of weak memes with really annoying titles on a daily basis. When confronted as a spammer, he gets defensive and brags that he's "naming the jew" and anyone who disagrees with him is a jew.

Other users have suggested he's a previous user, u/try, who posted lengthy wall of text posts filled with hyperlinks. Everything he said might have been true, but he was so obnoxious about it that he really put everyone off. His behavior was a distraction, and too attention from whatever it was that was under discussion to him.

I dislike memes particularly because they're lazy and low effort content. They as substantial as a bumper sticker. They just preach to the converted without providing any actual new information for people. I'm don't post a lot, but when I do, I try to put some thought into it and share information. I read posts from users who put effort into their contribution.

It's just my opinion, but memes are unhelpful, especially when the first page is flooded with memes from the same user.

I think there's something going on behind the scenes. Massive amounts of effort to co-opt the narrative and make it pointless and boring. You see real people with passion to go on the attack (Patrick Little) are attacked and sidelined, while fake and gay mongrels like Nick Fuentes are promoted as bastions of truth and leadership. It's all so stupid.

I used to attack his fatalism. But I rarely disagreed with anything he wrote or sourced.

It was actually a major turning point for me when I realized that he was probably right about white people as a whole. Going from having hope for your extended family to realizing that you were always basically alone does that to you.

Now I'm making my own family. There's still a stubborn hope, even though I'm well aware how this is likely to end for me.

I've also noticed a general change in the energy level, is what I would call it. Perhaps a lot of people just decided to get off the internet? I also know that, like someone else said it, that the conspiracies have pretty much been proven at this point. It's like we all went through a mental/spiritual transformation on Voat and/or other various places, and now we need to do what it takes to integrate that metaphysical change in the real, physical world. So basically maybe a lot of the higher quality posters/ participants are spending less time on the internet and more time in the real world?
