I will be alone on Christmas. I have nowhere to go and no one to see.

..... And it will be perfect. Just me and my dog which is the best company I could ask for. There is even supposed to be a snow storm on Christmas day. I have a steep hill outside my window and I hope to sit with a warm Coco in hand and watch cars slide into things. I find that enjoyable. I plan on making a special dinner, a steak or roast with some good sides. I'll buy my dog some treats and toys and it will be a special day. A snow storm on Christmas is really the best present I could ask for. I envision Christmas music playing while I watch heavy snow fall outside my window with my lights dimmed low and Christmas lights sparkling in the background. Life is good. I need to get some cocoa. I love you.

I used to work in an old folks home long ago. Nearly all them that were there were put there by their kids. Greedy adult-sized kids that put the parent(s) out to pasture, sold the house, paid off the rest home, then pocketed the windfall....or took over the house for themselves. Your Leave It To Beaver fantasy of kids taking care of the parents is a nice nostalgia....but it was on life-support back when I was young. The Chinese are the only ones I know of that still play that today.

Oh totally. Not saying families are always reliable, just that they can give you things pets can't.

My father and uncles kinda did that in my grandmothers case, but she had alzheimers and needed 24 hour care so I think it was justified. They used the rent on her house to pay her nursing home bills. We visited her every sunday but she mostly just liked to sit and dream, once we'd given her her sunday lunch she wanted us gone.

I had some shocked relatives visit us once because they drove across the country to see her and she dismissed them after talking to them for two or three minutes kek. They couldn't understand what had happened.

6. It's called the way... Essentially it is practice daily a new skill or refine an old one work on sharpshooting and quick draw fighting or fun stuff piano harmonica what ever just try to master something.

I do NOT get lonely, I get ANGRY if people think I'm lonely and drop by to TELL me, then tell me I'm a POOR host (because I DID NOT invite them over). Sheesh. I too listen to old christmas carols (fred waring and his pennsylanians (parent's album, I found in casette form on the internet). Just a wreath for decoration (I used to think it was a BIG ZERO (bad), so I put up a ONE (tiki statue) on MY door, now I go with the BIG ZERO. Why bother? After all I AM a nobody.

I also enjoy the CLASSIC christmas (TCM) movies and TV progs (charlie brown). Got to pick up my holiday groceries on friday. EGGNOG.

I appreciate peace, serenity, being able to do anything I want without some nag bitching about it or trying to manipulate me into doing what it wants, screeching kids, and having both trying to leech money away. I am exactly where I want to be, exactly where I planned to be when I was young, and have zero regrets.

I spend 98% of my time alone yet I literally never feel lonely. Literally never, I'm totally okay with it.... I mean its by choice. Sometimes I feel slight concern that I don't feel lonely because I realize its not normal. At the end of the day I'm perfectly okay with the fact I am not "normal" or even close to it. I actually think its my best quality.

I had to put my dog to sleep because they suspected he had a brain tumor. He was having terrible seizures, tremors and neurological issues. Rather than let him degrade I choose to say goodbye to him. Then I got a cat but soon realized cats aren't for me. I found him a good home and got a rescue dog from Texas. I have had him almost a year. As luck would have it he also has seizures but is doing very well on medication. Its just a coincidence, my new dog is just epileptic which is very common actually. My last dog didn't start having seizures until he was 8 which is almost always a sign of brain cancer. If a dog has epilepsy he will start having seizures by the time he is 2, my dog is about 2. Now you understand.

Thanks bro. I am not big on family get togethers but like you said, I will go and go through the motions for a few hours on holidays. This year is a little different. I love my family but I do not have that Inherit feeling of importance towards family that most people have. probably because it was never shown or taught to me as a child.

years ago my wife and I would always have the most terrible rows on Christmas day. It was uncanny. Part, if not all, of the problem was that she was determined to cook a traditional Christmas dinner and it was inevitably hot and she has poor coping skills generally as well as being a Calamity Jane = disaster. Solution. We spent Christmas Day apart in our separate residences. But now she's got the Christmas-cooking bug out of her system and we spend Christmas together with no fuss or fanfare. Peace!
