Why would they do this when the use of rat neurons has already been proven to work and be just as effective for experiments... Seriously, in terms of behavior, human neurons and rat neurons are functionally identical.
At some point I do have to assume most people in the scientific field are larping demons. Or more bluntly, kikes masturbating over their own pseudo-intellectualism.

In case anyone is wondering why they use living neurons whatsoever, it's because they're trying to fully understand how neurons work, especially in regards to how they autonomously build new connections with neurons, so a better mathematical model can be made for machine learning.
Currently, from everything I've seen, practiced and read, the basic optimization algorithms for weights, biases, and output modifiers have effectively reached maximum efficiency. The current problem is the optimization of the actual neural net structure, which at this point, has to be done by brute force. Adding and removing neurons and establishing new connections randomly, then checking to see if the effectiveness of the NN has improved is insanely computationally expensive.
So figuring out how real neurons do it will greatly improve machine learning algorithms across the board.

Of course, they don't need to use human neurons, there is literally no benefit to doing so. We've literally trained rat neurons to fly a plane already.
Likewise, even if they do figure out how to optimize structural change in NN, they're still going to run into the problem that they can't optimize mathematical operators efficiently, again they have to brute force if they even want to try. Which would be far more worth their time solving than dicking around with neurons of any kind.

That is some fucked up stuff.
