Beginning my exploration of prime number visualization

I tried a funky pattern because a classic square has been tried a million times. Just trying to visualize it and find interesting lines and shapes. Any shape suggestions?

I think whenever you're trying to visualize data, ask yourself these:

How does this visualization help instead of plain text?
What am I emphasizing and how can I draw attention to this part of the image?
Is there possibility that my imagery and labels can be misinterpreted?

Your image looks cool, but on first glance no one would have any idea you're talking about prime numbers until you stated that in text. Try to show, not tell.

Good advice. This was kind of a test of the core systems. I want try finding a Prime Line. Sort of like Mersenne Primes but without composites. It's a silly idea, but something to do instead of drinking.

Dunno if you've seen this.

I haven't. That is beautiful. Definitely had circles in mind for future shapes. Good shit FO

You mentioned the visualization and I cant help but recall the bottom part about the primes.

I wish someone would do this up with each different layer separated from the rest.

Still Tesla was over here inventing new multiplication tables and we still use the dam square charts in schools a hundred years later.

Do you have a link to the image?

Turn a corner at each prime, with turns in the same order as in your pic. Start with 2, first direction is up.

Upper and lower “envelopes” will emerge. These curves will both be logarithmic, and can be used to extrapolate bounds on the range in which further primes will emerge if you plot them

Try it out. Report back.

I knew they were averagely logarithmic in size, but that might be a cool idea. Thanks! Will tag in you in the post of it if you like.

What's it look like if you plot the primes in a line?

[ - ] zesty [op] 0 points 2.4 yearsDec 22, 2021 21:19:38 ago (+0/-0)

Then you would see the prime deltas. So the distance between primes would start at 1, and then bounce from 2 to unprovably infinity. There's a neat conjecture that there are an infinite number of primes distanced 2 digits apart (Twin Prime Conjecture).

Love that channel. I know not to fall into that trap. And 3b1b is a visual artist.
