There is a reason why mask and respirator use in the workplace is highly controlled, at least in the US. Employers need to conduct training on mask use, even if it is voluntary. Respirators require health checks in addition to training prior to use. And more to your point, a face covering must be tailored to its use and used in limited amounts.
