If someone wants to add or start a new list to include into this one feel free. Needless to say the lists are incomplete and may always be. Its easier to point out what isnt than what is these days. Do what you can to become fully self sufficient.
Will do. Curious about anonymous hosting options though. I assume this will be my bottleneck.
What are you thinking about when it comes to chain of control?
I see a DB with an entry of a company, say dicks sporting goods, we can have a column called "owned by" which will lead to a link of that company and essentially you can go up the ladder.
Maybe later on a way to generate a family tree of companies?
I was thinking immediate parent company and the company and CEOs at the top level of the chain. If you do this as a public web site it wont survive. It will be kiked into the grave. Possibly with you too. Best to make it as far from the public eye as possible. Then set it up so its contents can be a simple text document that can be easily searched via the alphabet or find function.
But yes a family tree of companies and organizations as well as who is in or supports them would be good. It would be nice to ultimately have a program that lists the ladder of ownership. Displaying who holds major investments, what companies are underneath, and what is above it.
Yeah I have been trying to figure out the best way to do this for a while.
Decentralized would be best but high barrier of entry (for me as a dev and users as well) and also limited with technology.
Maybe a downloadable package that can be posted here that can access a public api. The data in the public api is encrypted and can only be decrypted by the user on their local machine. This is confusing to users, limited to a desktop most likely, and still can ultimately be kiked.
A text document is good but without a backend, we cannot allow for mass collaboration.
I think the first option is the best, but most difficult due to my lack of knowledge.
Im saying mass collaboration is your first mistake. Youre wanting to out think billionaires when they can just throw money at the problem and use suppression tactics until it goes away. Thats if they play nice.
Take a look at the OneAngryGamer list under the BLM section. Now look at the current state of the site. That list doesnt exist any more and there is no ability to comment on the site either far as I know. Its a site no longer under original ownership or in support of its original spirit.
Doing this kind of thing is painting a neon target on your back. You can likely get away with depicting the corporate ladder but if you want strangers to gather and start pointing out coincidences and foul deeds you better expect similar treatment to your predecessors.
Best to make it easy for one or two autists to fill out. Then drop a big text file on those who care.
