Untrue, if you tie it properly the string will be cut by the door or the door won’t close. If you mean to somehow use the door as your tie point that’s foolish because the tree won’t be secure on the rooftop.

Stop being dumb. Go ahead. Tie some rope thru the windows of hte car and just leave the door open on the drivers side. Tie it as tight as you can. Then slam the drivers door. It will not cut it. Your doors are not made of razor blades, and seriously, even if they were, it wouldn't cut it unless you drove it that way for 1500 miles. You're an idiot.

Notice their tree is t actually secure? They wiggle it a little to “check it” but that twine in the final shot is too loose. If they get into an accident or stop short that tree could keep going without them.
