You know, it came out surprisingly good. Again, I thought to use fresh orange slices, fresh herbs, etc. but I followed the recipe with one exception, and I think it made all the difference, the half Serrano pepper in each jar. I typically do a whole pork roast and make a big pot of carnitas. Trouble with that is I end up overeating fatty pork. This way I crack a jar, make up some tacos or whatever, and the wife and I eat for one night, no overstuffing ourselves. It’s fucking awesome this way.
Edit/flavor was outstanding. Simple yet robust. No need to add anything next time. Of course, you can add when you heat it up, fry it, whatever. A little salsa or hot sauce.
