The stress of being poor is awful and I'm not talking about the "uhh! I can't afford a new iPhone XX!" poor, I'm talking about the how do I keep the lights on poor.
That is NOT to say that being poor isn't a result of your own bad decisions but that those who are able can recognize those decisions as being bad and correct them.
Money can buy you peace of mind. It's easier to relax when you know that you've got money to handle the unexpected stuff like a broken appliance or new tires or a new roof. I'd much rather have money stashed away for a rainy day than spend it on stuff like this.
There are different levels of happiness, from the short and fleeting to the long term and consistent. It ultimately depends on each person. I remember someone once said that money doesnt change a person, it simply amplifies. If you were a POS already, then having money will amplifiy you into a much bigger POS. If you are a decent, loving and giving human being, having money will simply amplify who you already are.
Well I was standing in the front bar of Lennon's Hotel in the middle of Brisbane, Au about 8:30 or 9 o'clock one night in probly 1987 or so .. Richard Branson lobbed beside me and started on like a well known friend, we were great mates for about ten minutes until he claimed another couple of individuals at the other side of the bar, I went over and told him "I thought we were mates," true story .. he seemed a pretty nice bloke, from what I understand he is known for that type of thing.
