I don't know the full story, but according to the source, this wasn't faggotry, this was an accident. He was cleaning out a bunch of memorabilia and fell on top of it. He doesn't seem to have a history of being admitted to the hospital for this kind of thing, and didn't seem to regret losing the shell at all. I'm going to give this the temporary benefit of the doubt and say that this was a strange misunderstanding. He's going to have to bear some absurd laughter for a while after this.

Some of those WW2 shells were sharpened to a fine point. If he was just wearing basic pants or casual clothes, it wouldn't have been hard for the shell to go right through. The article didn't say whether they cut his clothing off or whether or not they had to, so I think that he was able to put on and take off his pants before they removed it.
