Fascism does actually describe something specific, but I agree it has been perverted to mean "any authoritarian rule I disagree with."

I think fascism is more apt in this case, however, than communism because the speaker was discussing rule by business and medical "elites", not by elected or warlord communist leaders who take power from others and first destroy the current regime before remaking it. Now the "elites" may be communist and steering things toward that method of authoritarianism, but at this point the fascism label seems more apt.

Fascism is named after the Roman symbol of power called a "Fasces" because Benito Mussolini used them in his government's imagery. It's the ideal of putting the state first. Everything and everyone serves the state. The degree to which it serves solely determines its value.

Going through old replies and saw this. Fascism is taking current corporate power and merging with government. Communism is government power dictating how everything will be run to make everyone equal (usually to the lowest common denominator because different people have different avilities).

Once cops decide they're more loyal to their paycheques than the people, every street will become a gauntlet for cops. Worst case in Australia, theres some petrol bombs, people dropping big rocks on cop cars from bridges. In the US their helicopters are going to be taking concentrated fire from 20 locations. Their cruisers are going to eat 600 rounds before they crash into the end of the streets. Then they'll bring in the tomahawks and hellfire missiles. Hopefully there's enough white pilots to sabotage the rest.

You didnt read my post. I said they had a lot of guns taken away. We still have plenty of guns. There are more gun sales now than when the restrictions came in.

The issue is that you are still right however. Gun ownership in Australia has decreased, but the number of guns owned by gun owners has increased significantly. And they all moved away from the cities. Those in the city are most likely going to have to revert to petrol bombs and the like as all the guns are in the country.
