Have you ever played Rust? How is it? Thinking about getting it.

The game Rust. From what I understand, is you kill animals, gather wood and stuff and make a base, maybe even find guns and stuff and you just try to survive as long as possible.

Am I right or is there more to it? This game looks fun.

Something important to know about Rust is their devs made it so players apparently can't choose the gender or race of their character. You get "randomly assigned" whatever you are when you buy the game, so if it decides you're a strong black wahmen, you're stuck that way forever. If it made me a nigger I would just return it.

Lots of grinding.

There are some really well made and entertaining videos on YT by skilled players, suggest to seek some of them out. It will give you a good sense of how the game play is. But they are highlight reels, remember that. For every hour of entertaining video there was dozens of hours of busy work to accumulate resources and build the base.

I haven't played it since earlier this year, but from what I've read the update in September ruined Valheim.

I played the shit out of conan exiles and loved it, bad reviews stopped me from picking up rust tho.

Servers have time limits unless someone paid to make it never end.

If you die you lose all your progress but not your created home.

I played like one time but my friend plays it all the time.

Survival simulator? I don't see how it can be realistic. you don't have your (quality) senses available. sight, SOUND, smell...intuition (being watched).....At least not in the way you REALLY use them in life (in game).
