What does saving a comment or post mean? Aren't they just THERE where you LEFT them?

It's like a bookmark. If you click on your user profile name there is a button called "Saved Submissions". So all the posts you saved will show up there.

yeah, i've been asking for it months ago
had to resort to bookmarking it
