Gore sites have gone to shit in the past year. From what I've seen, theync.com is the best. If you get passed the popups. They still allow comments and you dont have to have an account to view stuff.

When I was 6 I was almost in a similar situation. I was cycling to school down this narrow road and a huge truck drove past. It was inches away from me, one false move and I would have been pulled under it.
Just riding your bike and your life is gone. If your brain is still intact, there is evidence that you go into shock and start hallucinating as a coping mechanism for your final minutes/seconds of consciousness. Beats seeing your lower half and crying about dying.
Not really a coping mechanism... just getting high on chemicals released in response to severe damage to the body. Blocking fear and pain immediately following trauma may help survive whatever caused it. Consider a battlefield or hunting situation. No advantage in not releasing the chemicals if the damage is fatal, and trying to determine that would involve additional effort and risk, so no reason an off-switch or throttle would ever evolve.
This appears to be in California. 2014 they adopted the 3 foot rule. Admittedly, the driver is probably just going to get a slap on the wrist instead of manslaughter charges.
Woof, totally different situation. The thread subject we could see that the bus was too up close on the person. But, this case is a cross section issue. Don't even know anything about the cyclist. Which way was he moving from, was he operating with lights and reflectives or going in dark cloths. The probability is that if an accident occurred he wasn't wearing reflectives, he came from the left when the operator was looking right, and he was probably moving too quick for driver to react. Usually cross section accidents as far as I've seen are usually caused by the cyclist.
I've never understood why cyclists have the level of self importance that overrides their survival instinct.
