The problem with that advice is once it happens to you, it is way too late to do anything about it, other than bitch and cry. Once the wolf is at your door, your options are limited:

The wise man learns from past mistakes, and does not seek to repeat them. In each and EVERY instance where the commies or socialists have overthrown a country, the indigenous police force there were quick to jump on that hayride. I can find not ONE example throughout history, where the police made any effort to defend the original government, and oppose the leftist usurpers. NOT ONE! I see absolutely no reason to believe the police in America will be any different...especially after witnessing their 'do nothing' response to the riots of BLM and Antifa. The police motto of 'protect and serve' has always meant 'protect' their paycheck, and 'serve' whomever signs said paycheck. Nothing more. A commie signing their paycheck is just as good as any other signature, and a commie government will need a police force just as much as any other....in fact, a commie employer will free up the police to live their dream of being a 'Dirty Harry' or 'Violent Cop'...where rules are made to be broken, and the populace has no pesky rights to get in the way.
