My thoughts are that they need the bad stuff to create the cures. If the world were calm and civil, then there would be no need for militaries or weapons of any sort, but that is not where we live.

My theory doesn’t discount the possibility of an intentional release. I see no reason to assume it could not be accidental.

Look the appetite on these forum is for the sort of red meat theories like “oh, Fauci and Gates definitely planned the release after Event 201, which was a dry run.” You know, maybe.
