Story time, fuckers. Several years ago I was working a bullshit delivery job at a sandwich place you've probably heard of. Easy money on the side. One of the creatures I worked with was an lazy, over dramatic, short haired dyke. I tried my best not to interact with her, she was a degenerate malingerer. Save work related discussion I didn't talk to her. One night, our manager is telling us that her and I will be closing together and she quips "Well that should make you happy, since you hate me." I look her dead in the face and tell her "I don't care enough about you to hate you"

Moral of the story, hate requires emotional investment. It's fine to hate, but make sure you're investing wisely.

Hate is the opposite of love. That which you love brings you so much joy,you never want to be without it. That which you hate brings you such pain,you can't stand to be near it. Indifference means you don't give a shit either way. It's the middle point. The absence of love or hate.

I don't think you understand how english works. You see,words have multiple definitions. And which definition you're using depends on the context they're used in.

For example,to "have a care" means you are concerned about something. When it comes to hate,your concern is with it's destruction or removal,not the object itself.

There is no opposite of love. Love is a center point, similar to a circle. Many emotions start from it, but end up twisted by the layers of other emotions on top. It's a trick of human psychology to see things, especially emotions, in a linear fashion, even though it's never worked that way at all in history or in the minds of hearts of mankind.

A better example to consider, which is even more difficult to describe given the limits of written/verbal communication, is that love exists at the core of a being. They are required to have it, and without, they eventually wither up and die. While some say that they can live or do without it, it doesn't negate that they existed at one point due to the decisions of someone else who felt love, or were loved by someone until it stopped. The end result of not feeling love is broken hearts and minds, which is a significant problem in today's world, with so many people out there walking around with broken parts of their spirit that they can't even begin to find the reason why everything that they attract to their life doesn't work the way that they desire.

There's additive and multiplicative inverse. Also logical negation in both classical and constructive logic. The opposite of 1 is -1, 0, everything except 1, and nothing.

So the opposite of love is whatever you want it to be.
