There is some very ancient history in that region, and it’s utterly fascinating. Even it’s more modern history is very engaging, so much of our modern world was shaped by events on the Balkans.

I watched this earlier today. They are hardly the only whites to practice polygamy. Supposedly the Aryans/Yamnaya may have been pretty polygamous.

You would expect that people that are more warlike would be more polygamist. Elite warriors might have 6 wives but everybody couldn’t have that many unless they were massively expasionist.

How do they get the math to work? Undoubtedly the life expectancy of the thracian male was not great. Either they were killed in battle at high rates or they killed each other alot or they stole other peoples females at high rates. The problem with that last one is that if you have evolvedd in to the perfect society of berserker warrior males, impregnating foreign agrarian chick will really shit up your gene pool. Half of your sons would rather press flowers or something. You will weaken that genetic signal for pillaging badassery. This is probably what happened to the aryans over time.

Theres this thing called the X/A ratio which is a genetic test that tells you roughly what female to male breeding ratio is in a population (degrees of polygamy). The diversity of X sex chromosomes compared to any other pair of non-sex (autosomal) chromosome pairs should be .75 (3 to 4) in a perfectly monogamous population because between any breeding couple there should be 4 chromosomes for each pair except for the sex pair which has 3 X chromosomes. A more polygamous group might have 5:6 as the ratio because there is only one successful breeding male for every 2 breeding females. Theyve used this to esimate sex ratios for niggers and chimpanzees and fruit flies. Anyway I seem to remember some study showed the indo-european invasion was rather polygamous.

Niggers ratio is really high like you’d expect, .9 or so, which means they average 4 breeding females to every 1 male, those other 3 males are likely killed by each other.
