I had a Coronavirus

submitted by SparklingWiggle to NaturalRemedies 2.5 yearsNov 16, 2021 22:19:59 ago (+3/-0)     (NaturalRemedies)

Okay, it was just a cold (so maybe a coronavirus, rhinovirus or just dry sinuses) but I still have extra mucus sliding down my throat making me cough, especially when I lay down. All I've taken is regular vitamins, exta D vitamin, tylenol, and my 'go to' elderberry syrup. I sleep next to a humidifier. (I think dry cold air dried my sinuses and caused this shit.)

Having said all this, what will stem the extra snot and put my system right?

Claritin, you may have allergies. Also clean your pillow.

Or maybe Flonase, if there's sinus swelling.

Turn the shower on hot and leave the fan off in your bathroom and make a steam room.

I like to attempt to OD on Vit C. Ĺots of direct sunshine - if it's cold where you live try to expose as much as your body as you can (at least 10 or 15%) for at least 10 minutes.

Bone broth and/or chicken soup is great.

Vix is effective but full of toxic crap. I usually prefer eucalyptus oil. I did see a natural vapor rub that was apparently as good as vix but it was more than twice the price so I never got it... I bought a nose aspirator instead (for baby). They feel weird but are very effective. They wouldn't get anything you can't blow out though, so not very useful for adults.

But my instincts tell me petrochemicals aren't good to inhale or slather on skin.

Besides, gum leaves are free and abundant so I don't even have to buy eucalyptus oil most of the time. Especially after a storm (or light breeze).

Best $30 bucks you will ever spend

Turns the faucet off.

Recommended dose is 2 which should do the trick. If it's especially bad, take 3 and you'll be dry as a bone in no time and get some sleep without drowning.

I like the steam room idea. I also go out on fast walks to clear out my sinuses. Bring tissues.

Get a nebulizer and fill it with 3% hydrogen peroxide!

Antihistamines and nsaids are two totally different things. Tylenol is not an antihistamine. But you are correct on vitamins. Nutrients may help prevent, but are not effective in fighting.

Weird how vitamins were among the few things not marketed to us during covid. If they were useless, you'd think we'd have been told to take them.

The tylenol was for headaches from sinus pressure and/or coughing. Also, the Vitamins will help with immune health an damage repair from immune response.

Check out this PDF and let me know your thoughts. There is a specific portion that talks of the lack of vitamins while combating cooties.
