Yes, well, that's all very nice but spare a thought for Government, yes Government. The process of governing involves the sweep of a broad brush. Policy must be formulated on the basis of common denominator. It can't be tailor made to take into account every person's doubting, inquisitive and imaginative mind because administration would inevitably be paralysed by inaction.Put simply, it's impossible to herd cats and multiculturalism, diverse immigration has made governing extremely difficult.
E: in summary I'm suggesting that "doubting, inquisitive and imaginative minds" can actually be inimical to the possessors of those minds because too much exceptionalism based on people's freedom can cause Society's gears to grind too slowly if not halt all together. A good example is the need for policy makers to consult. Imagine consulting ten interested parties who provide ten different courses of action? And just imagine the difficulties for Government when Australia gets it's Aboriginal Consultative Assembly. Bills will most certainly languish in the Never Never.
