It's heaven. The fish are aggressive and it's rarely fished.

What are you targeting?
If I had to guess trout.
Fly fishing is still uncharted waters for me (get it nudge).
But eventually I’ll get into it ,just thinking about all that lineout gives me anxiety lol.

Rainbows and browns. Casting isn't as bad as you at first think. It does take practice. When you're learning you will screw up and spend a lot of time getting flies out of fallen logs and the trees behind you. But it's the most rewarding fishing you can do, imo.

The real part that should give you anxiety is what to get. That's the part that drove me nuts when I started.

Great response gear wise I usually just do something middle of the road.
Got a centerpin a few years ago but I still mainly spin cast jigs/spoons etc.
Just got a bait caster as I hadn’t tried one and I figured could do both casting and drifting effectively.
But there’s a river I fish that’s fly fishing only for a month or two a year. Usually I lake fish at that time but for sure fly fishing will happen.
I really think fly fishing is the top skill style so it is on my to do list.

Fly fishing on a lake for carp is an absolute blast. You could try that.

That's a nice spot. You don't even need a pole for a spot like that. sit down on one of the boulders in the river and dip the line into the eddy. You'll catch everything just like that.
