Anything outside of the public educational system is preferable. There are resources but that’s for you to explore since you are in charge of their education. Ensure that for the duration, you are at least parallel to the standards at grade level and depending on your state, you may need to keep accurate records and satisfy occasional testing requirements. Ethics and common sense. It all starts from there. With the two properly in place they will seek out their own education and ponder things. At that point you use your experience to guide and help them. Ethics perhaps being the more important one of the two. A good natured fool can be led to evil but the dark hearted and clever will seek it out.
People try to legislate good sense and character into existence. This is an ass backwards direction. Legislation is unsuitable for fools and abused if not ignored by the foul natured. What the world needs is not quality government but people of quality.

Montessori a system that assumes children are capable of a lot more than most people think. They accreditate schools and daycares to teach that system but you can teach it at home.
