If they try and push formula “because it’s more calorie dense” insist on your wife’s milk getting tested first- often it is fattier than formula. Also you can seperate out the fatty part of breast milk (it settles at the top when refrigerated) and just give that.

If they accuse her of low supply they are probably wrong but she can increase her supply and store any excess by pumping for no more than 20 mins each side or look up “power pumping” - I think all hospitals have free pumps to borrow in Au and in the US I know your insurance usually covers the cost of buying a pump or La Lache League or similar org might have them for hire. Double pumps FTW.
