I wonder if people got fat and died often in the old days and normal people didn’t capture their images due to the tech being too expensive to waste on such corpulence. Sure we noted the fattest people, but think of all the undocumented fatasses in ancient history! This is why almost all religions warn against gluttony.

The average person wouldn't have gotten this far in the first place (unless wealthy or Social Position) due to the basic hygiene and simple medical interventions at hand.
Nor for having the lack of ability to stuff ones face with 'processed sugar and other low quality foods' all day long.
As individuals actually needed to be fully able support themselves with employment or lifestyles in order to eat in the first place.
No gibs/ no eats ....

Yeah you would have to think the lack of betus medication back then would have not allowed this to get this big. Google up some old 'fat lady circus side show' or 'fattest person in the world' type stuff and you will see photos of what we think is some normal woman I just saw in Walmart with old timey clothes on.
