Game, being a shared resource not tied to a single parcel of land, is perhaps the quintessential community asset. Hunting is regulated with laws that resemble communism. It's like navigable waterways and airspace. An animal that walks into your land isn't your animal. If your neighbor's goat wrecks your garden, he's responsible because it's still his goat. It didn't suddenly become yours when it crossed the property line. So game is usually regulated as belonging to the community.

The worst thing you can do for gun rights is to bring hunting into it, unless of course you want communism in your gun laws.
