I was advised here not long ago that a spear would be a better idea for most people. Makes sense. I guess it wouldn't look as cool but if I'm the survivor I'll look cool later.

I've studied bojutsu, which is staff or large stick martial arts. Once you realise the range a stick as large as you are (or larger) can give you, you feel all other martial arts have no hope. Do not read that I despise other martial arts, hand to hand is useful, you wont always have a stick, but sticks are everywhere and you no longer have to get close to someone if you have one.

Wait till you guys get a load of this new martial weapon called the gun. Incredible range, can kill a mile away, nearly 1000 body lengths away. Even if you karate chop to block the bullet, get this, the bullet goes THROUGH the blocking hand, connects with head, goes THROUGH the fucking head and kills the victim so fast they don't have time to scream. Once I studied the gun you feel all other martial arts have no hope. Sarcasm aside, yes the spear is really good. That's the one that helped the real guys who inspired the 300 movie to kick so many asses.

Spears require no training to be efficient.

Spears are cheap, easily replaced or repaired.

Spears give reach so your troops stay safe.

Spears can be easily thrown.

Sorry, but those swordsmen aren't even trying. It wouldn't take much to deflect the spear jabs to get in close, then Britney spears there is toast.

If you want a sword that is a laser, you want the lightsaber.

Gimme a spear and a hammer and an axe in one weapon.

Spear at the top, hammer on one side, axe on the other.

Perfect for stabbing from behind a shield wall, battering in heavy armor, and slashing open exposed flesh to cause bleeding.

The are can also be used for disarmament and pulling in enemy soldiers away from their formations as well.
