Alternatives to reducing traffic without killing everyone?

submitted by obscenity to AskUpgoat 3.6 yearsOct 13, 2021 23:15:30 ago (+4/-2)     (AskUpgoat)

Let's be honest, we've all wanted humanity to be snuffed out while sitting in rush hour traffic. But then you get home and beat your wife a little and you come to your senses. Maybe you do a little meth. Ultimately though you realize as much as traffic reminds you of insects crawling all over each other you know killing everyone would be wrong.

I am pro freedom. I guess I'll fight to the bitter end for it. For you, me, and even the retards. But seriously why the fuck do we live in these asinine cities where you need a car to get everywhere. What is so fucking wrong with walking or riding a bike?

How would you design a city without cars without limiting personal freedom? Would the fat dumb fucks ever go along with it?

As posted by someone last week. The answer is limiting city populations so everything can be reached within walking distance.

The Nazi research on this was quite clear on the benefits for the population of smaller engineered cities vs the cons of major uncontrolled faggot generating commie machines we call our modern day cities.

Deport all spics. Traffic would die down immensely.

Also deport a lot of the foreigners, visa types, etc.

Almost all cities in Europe are Ăźber walkable and bikeable. The streets are usually pretty narrow and even one car can barely pass through, let alone two. You only really need a car when you are going to your farmhouse in the country. Even then, you can easily use the nice trains going through scenic passages.

Toxic waste or radiation will just kill you, painfully. Why do you idolise demons’ comics?

I don’t like the premise.
And it’s impossible without limiting personal freedom.
But perhaps since I don’t care about a really large chunk of the population, then maybe.fuck their freedom.
So cities would require skytrains/subways lots of them and a shit ton of busses.
If you could make public transport “easier” and more convenient then most of the lazy fucks would use it.
But you’d also have to ban car commercials.

Tie road licensing to taxpayer status. Not producing? Then you're not driving.

A city without cars is easily done but has to be built for it.

Subway systems and streetcar systems with bike lanes and truck lanes/cab lanes. There would still be commercial vehicles on the roads but a fast and efficient subway system coupled with a slower trolley system with more stops would blend easily with commercial traffic to provide easy and fast transport for the masses. You would need city provided security stationed at large parking garages on each road out or in to town.

If you live in the city without a vehicle, you are the ultimate drone, beholden to the powers that be, 100% enslaved to them. You cannot leave without their permission, you cannot provide for yourself. If the city utilities stop working....good luck living. Without thousands of trucks/trains pouring in outside food and life needs daily, the city would grind to a halt. I prefer self reliance. But hey, maybe you like living in a pod and eating bugs.

The question wasn't "would you live in a place without cars" or "would it be good to live without cars".

The question was how could it work. I answered the question. You're injecting other parameters.

Look at mackinaw island. It doesn't have to be a large city.

More COVID psyops, this last one reduced traffic to practically nil globally

Why the fuck are you living in the fucking scum filled cities anyway?

[ - ] GeneralDisarray 3 points 3.6 yearsOct 14, 2021 01:10:12 ago (+3/-0)

If you have ever spent time in holland you would see this in action.

Every town and city has racks of simple and tough free too borrow bikes you can use and return at your convenience.

They are maintained and all work fine.

You can ride all throughout the cities towns and in between with priority over traffic. And you never see anyone that is remotely fat ever!

And they have an extensive public transportation system that is cheap, clean and works. You can get the train into town then grab a bike to get anywhere in the town for very little.

It's a system that incentivizes you to get exercised and not just get in your car.

Spent time in Amsterdam. Have a friend who owns a house in the Hague. Very, very familiar with the concept. Y'all don't understand the SIZE of a place like Texas. It is 20 miles anywhere for me. When it is over 100 degrees with 65% humidity, AND huge vehicles are whizzing past at 70 miles an hour, tell me again how "good for you" biking is. I live where Lance Armstrong trained, the Texas Hill COuntry.

I think about this every now and then while stuck at a red light.

Although not a fan of self driving cars, if all cars on the road were self driving red lights could be eliminated. Each car just needs to adjust it's speed based on other traffic in the area https://files.catbox.moe/iluvzf.gif

Other than that, having a tunnel or overpass at every single intersection might be worth it.

The most realistic thing you can do is plan your route maximizing as many right turns as possible.
