Its a killer little 8
" powered home theatre subwoofer. Very nice one, retailed new for $500+. I was looking for a small sub to compliment my Yamaha ysp-4000 sound projector and it is perfect. Actually hits really hard. It also looks really nice. I like home audio. Love maker.

You mentioned the price, did you get a deal? Also, you should make a sub for home audio.

I traded it for some old speakers i wasn't using. I actually gave the guy a great deal just because it was stuff i didn't want to store.

id think a 12" would be more better fit. At least a 10" for the vibrations.

it's a long throw driver, so even with it's mere 8 inches it can move a lot of air.

Here are some pro setup tips:
- set the subwoofer on your listening position and stick your head in places where you could place the sub. Choose the spot where bass is the loudest.
- Set the sub in the desired spot, now while at listening position, let someone twist the variable phase knob on the back of the sub. Set it where it gives most bass.

Happy booming!

judging by the pictures your Yamaha soundbar doesn't have a sub output, so set the crossover filter on the sub low to very low (50 - 70 Hz)

This is brilliant. The simplest things have the best results.

Normally i agree but i don't want a ton of bass with this system. The 8" actually hits really hard though, more than i need. Its a good sub though.

did you get your ysp-4000 set up?

[ - ] cyclops1771 0 points 3.6 yearsOct 11, 2021 13:25:42 ago (+0/-0)

The remote arrives tomorrow!

I did plug it in, and got everything ready - it works amazingly well without setup over straight TV sound. Sounds are crisp and clear, and no more overbearingly loud background noise and music, and then dialogue is inaudible anymore!

I did discover that I need to figure out how to loop smart TV sound out and then back in when streaming. Which means I need to unmount it or perform reacharound magic to find the Out sound. Friend is coming over today to celebrate Columbus Day, so we will get it hooked up.

When the remotre arrives, I'll be able to control volume form my chair, as well as input. Oh, and do the setup for my specific listening room.

Thanks for the great advice!
