It hit me a few months ago. Voat had a *huge* advantage being the only real game in town to compete with reddit (SomethingAwful and some others were doing well at the time and Voat had the reddit formula down, without all the censorship and "gentlekindsir" faggotry).
Nowadays, there are more of these types of sites than you can shake a stick at. While nuVoat embodies many of the qualities that made Voat great, what we lack is a large user-base.
I'm not sure what critical mass, where we go from echo-chamber in some random corner of the interwebs to kingdom of the misfit toys, looks like and, with our "hundred-something users online", we're pretty far from that.
