there are many that will look exactly the same but they will not work. These mics are calibrated to these sound projectors.

probably wont work. It needs walls to bounce the soundwaves off of. That is how it works, without side walls at minimum it is just a speaker. This will give you an idea of how they work https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whLqEaFflrI

It will work best in a square room

lastly make sure you order the correct mic. make sure it says ysp-4000. The wrong mic will not work.
