Pretty cool movie. I was surprised at how similar some of the aspects that movie are to whats happening in real life now.

I thought it was filth, and I was especially put off by the massacre in the church. The end scene, when the woman offered anal sex to the man if he did what was supposed to be his duty was particularly disgusting.

There is some predictive programming in that movie, however, so I agree with that, and it's not accidental. If you want a better example of predictive programming, re-watch "Demolition Man". It's a shit movie, but so much of it is becoming reality.

Yeah, i mean, it's a movie. Of course there is kike shit and degeneracy and predictive programming in it. I just thought it was peculiar that the (then villain) wanted to depopulate the world through mind control implants cuz muh climate change. Just like now in real life. Except now irl the people who want to kill the population are seen by the normies as heroes for saving them from this hyped up flu virus.

I was onboard until you said demolition man was a shit movie?

I love the part with the three shells. Bloody hilarious. There are other scenes and really bust me up. But overall, I think it's crap. But I'll defer to your experience. Please tell me why you like it.

Ok ok! On one hand it's a 90s Sly movie, so of course it's crap. On the other hand, we're watching it because it's a 90s Sly movie. You've won, but independent fact checkers say: missing context.

I like it for a lot of reasons, but this is most relevant to our conversation. I see Spartan as an argument against modernity, especially as the years drag on. The average 90s viewer wouldn't put up with no guns, sex, salt, or cheese. This holds true today, I hope?

I've never spoken to a normie over the years who didn't think 2032 would be shit. My dad and uncles told me self driving cars would suck, basically taking your freedom. Sly even makes a subtly racist joke when he calls snipes "Blondie". The Irish Catholic led underground people rise up against basically a society of faggots.

I don't feel like DM's programming is making us ban straws or love diversity. Besides the car crash foam, there isn't much in the movie a normal person would want. What we do see are Idiocracyesque predictions of the future. The electro spikes that remove graffiti and keep people off the walls were what I thought of the first time I saw those spikes that keep the homeless from sleeping in certain places. You know the ones I mean.

I think DM is almost as close to perfect for it's genre as Tremors is for it's genre. There's also an easy argument that it's crap, though. (Not Tremors though, it's perfect, I'll murder you for saying otherwise)

You won me over. It's been decades since I saw DM, but you reminded me of a lot of important points I've forgotten about over the years. I just looked up the movie on IMDB and saw that the Sandra Bullock character's name is Lenina Huxley. There are two messages in that name, neither of which is subtle.

Thanks for this. I'm going to watch it tonight.
