I could pay you in shiny metal that isn't abundant. You can take that to a guy who'll hold it for you and give you goods/service vouchers that vendors could redeem said metal from the guy who's got your metals. I suppose scarcity and demand will drive the number of vouchers that are required.
And we could put somebody's face or a building on the vouchers.

I’ve been fruitlessly searching for information on how the third Reich handled currency but for (((some reason))) I can’t find any info on how to not have fiat-gold backed currency.

I already trade in my community, we are thinking of creating our own currency just to deal with each other. Like how does the Amish even out their trades? Can’t find any detailed info on HOW they do/did it, only that these groups figured it out.

I’ll keep looking, and of course I’ll share any findings. I plan on being more active now that I can make videos and such to guide other people who want to live this way.
