I have only ever seen dindus du dis. No idea why it's a thing.

Seems to be a both a taste/texture thing when they eat it and I wonder if they get an insulin rush off of it due to the high glycemic index.

Well that's one reason. The other is if they were like me, they tried one and instantly felt absolute revulsion.
Not sure why, but some people, typically of English decent, like me, can't stand the taste.

Tomatoes are still poisonous (if eaten raw, the seeds are anyway)

i would prefer peppers (Capisicum) over tomatoes anyday
