Listen here. What im saying is with tig you can go back and clean it up to look nicer. That's why these tig weld people show off are deceptive. If this was stick or even MIG I'd be impressed but even myself who only has a very basic grasp of TIG could present a weld like this to you if I could go back and keep cleaning it up.

I am a CWI. This appears to be piping of some sort, which is usually to pretty strict code. Not some weld porn of two pieces of scrap with a fillet weld. You can’t just constantly keep rewelding on material over and over until it looks like this. I imagine this welder is just good at what he does and judging by the lack of a heat affected zone (rainbow color tint on stainless) this was done in as few passes as possible.

Everything that gets posted online for attention is faked. Maybe this dude is one in maybe a few thousand welders who can weld stainless absolutely picture perfect every time in one pass with no flaws but I seriously doubt it. Im a mechanic by trade but have done enough welding to know that these flashy instagram TIG people are all fakes.

I’m not a big fan of the weld porn sites myself. Anybody can do that shit with a pulse machine and basic skills at walking the cup. The AWS is being infected with that garbage.

Yeah personally I've been impressed with the fabrication skills some guys have. Being able to knock out shit that fits well, is strong, and fully functioning is impressive to me. Those dudes are the unsung heroes of the welding world.
