Watch Elon Musk on this subject cause i suck at explaining this. So you assume this is the first universe that started 13.5 billion years ago? That never made sense to me, why that long ago? Maybe this universe came from another one or this one collapses in on itself and restarts over and over again, but how many times has that happened?

I don't really assume anythign about the age of the universe, except that our estimates are probably wrong somehow. I meant more that simulation theory just pushes the question of "what is reality?" one step back. So there's a simulation. Who made it? God? Aliens? Who made the aliens? Are you living differently becuase of it? It doesn't answer anything. The whole idea seems like hinduism saying almost everything is an illusion or neoplatonists discussing ideal planes. It's just computers dong it insead of the aether or whatever.
