You'd still need the Wyze on battery to go through power outages. There is firmware and some hacks to make them use RTSP so you can record to your own hard disk box in the house. I'm sure someone has some remote access server you can set up, to avoid being tied to the company (and having all your footage given to the police automatically). Every one of these companies will disappear some day, bricking all their cameras.

These cameras have lots of unexpected uses, like seeing how your pet does when you're gone during the day, watching a gas water heater to figure out why it's flickering out (melted the front of the camera from having it so close to the window heh), seeing into your attic to tell whether there are animals up there, and how they get in, seeing rats that get into the house, figuring out why the cat is going outside the litter box by having a camera on it.
