Over here they report it as "not fully vaccinated." Most people end up reading it as "unvaccinated" and assume some guy dying of his second shot was an evil anti vaxxer dying of the wuflu.

They also pump up the numbers by reporting anyone in the ICU "with covid" whether or not they're showing symptoms or if they're there for something completely unrelated.

You're doing the math wrong. Saying 25% of Republican voters are unvaccinated isn't the same as saying 25% of the unvaccinated are Republicans (you're assuming the latter with your calculation). To get the percentage of unvaccinated that are Republicans, you have to solve two equations:

r + d = 100
r/d = 5

Which comes out to around 83% of unvaccinated are Republicans, and 17% Democrats. So 83% of 10,000 is 8,300, which he rounded to 8,000. One thing wrong with his calculations is he ignores independent and 3rd party voters. And there's the assumption that the numbers he uses are actually correct.
