They will be diplomatic choices in how the Biden administration might respond to the Mexican move, if at all. Will Mexico release huge populations of inconvenient migrants again someday?

Note for the geopolitically interested: This is very relevant to Turkey, which has been housing 3.5 MILLION refugees for, god, 5 or more years now. And Turkey openly threatens to do what Mexico has just done. In Turkey's case, release these unwashed hordes into Europe.

Note, also, that Greece has built a wall (yes, one of those) quietly along the entirety of its border with Turkey.
