It was worth it.

I work at a public school; this morning the school's superintendent issued a 15 day mask mandate for all faculty to slow the spread. I respond to the whole school with a picture of the side of a mask box that says "... will not provide protection against Covid-19..." She responded just to me "...For the record, I'm not a mask fan or believer other than it helps people believe that we care about them as individuals." Needless to say that has been screen captured; I may get fired and it was worth it.

Ever heard of the laffer curve? There comes a point where they're bleeding out through lawsuits and they can't squeeze more taxes out of the cattle.

Sue them. Make it painful, embarassing and time consuming as possible. Time and dignity are hard to replace through taxation.

It's only foolish if you think it's going to result in justice. Sometimes the point is to just make life as hard for your opponent as possible. If every person they fire sues they'll drown in paperwork.

Point out that having a mask mandate, in the minds of the fearful, might make them feel better in their minds but in reality wearing the same mask all day causes health injuries.

And you're supposed to change the mask every 20 minutes or you're breathing in the bacteria and viruses (at least that's what the "officials" used to say before covid-1984 came along.

My God...the older I get the less patience I have with the "adults" that came before me. The less forgiving I am of their persistent immaturity. It was a calculated response. I don't know if she actually believes in the Coof; but she strait up told me she doesn't believe in the effectiveness of masks to prevent the spread of viruses. Rather than taking the "JEWS DID IT" approach; I chose to appeal to her humanity (doubtful it is there) and engage in the current topic; that causing harm wasn't a solution to appease those that are fearful.

There's no way they can fire you for that. You were stopping the spread of misinformation.

What you did was you tried to stop the school's superintendent from putting children and their families at risk by spreading misinformation.

If anything happens, go on the attack. The superintendent sends out emails with blatant misinformation, and implemented policies based on misinformation. Make it clear that you are a hero fighting misinformation and saving lives. - Never say what the misinformation was, and never argue that their info was wrong and yours was right. Never do that - Just act like you're the "safe" person, and the superintendent is dangerous and putting people's lives at risk.

It's interesting because by showing that the superintendent was just doing it to help people think they care, it forces every person who thought the masks meant something to either admit they are just bullshit, or continue believing they help and not be bothered by the superintendent's statement. How could they complain? "Thank you for having people wear masks, but I'm bothered because you don't believe in them." That wound sound stupid. Actions count.

Actually I am the IT guy for the school district and we do home school our son. I live in small town Idaho and IT jobs are few and far between. One of the teachers and I were discussing the possibility of starting a charter school or something to that effect; the same has been done in the neighboring town. Minimalist teaching, very little technology (which I like, I enjoy the IT field, I also think Wifi and endless screen time is bad for kids) but that idea fizzled out. I think the biggest hurtle would be the poverty in this area; no one wants to risk their job as there is no where to go if you loose it.
