Well worth the time to get to know them. I have a couple other articles, Shape Of Things and For Your Love, discussed on MusicFor.Us with a little more background on the group. Just search on Yardbirds. It's been well recognized that at one point Beck's solo project, during his time with them, the song "Becks Bolero" had what was the original concept of Led Zeppelin, but fate had slightly different plans.
