There are people who don't bother to teach their children to be literate. And I think that's just fine. If your parental instincts are not sufficient to educate your children, your genetics deserve a disadvantage.

But just so we are clear. If we have real education freedom, which I support, we are going to have some illiteracy. Just so we know that isn't some kind of gottcha that the other side can pull on us. We know. We are ok with it.

I think it's not a matter of literacy
it's how you put it to use

like our ancestors were damn educated for simple peasants

infact our people are completely retarded by comparison, hell most people can't hammer a nail, let alone fashion their own homes...

Yep, different strokes for different folks, and thats perfectly fine. Each according to their own measure. Now-days those that are too lazy or too stupid to function in a society are enabled by the multitude of 'gibs me dat' govt programs and social do-gooders creaming off hardworking tax payer monies, previously they would have starved to death and rightly so.

Yeah, they'll always pull that "every child deserves an education," thing.

It’s less important what you actually teach your kids and far more important what values you instill/nurture.

With the right genetic stock, children will always gravitate toward something and pursue it. Look at Abraham Lincoln for instance — dirt fucking poor, his parents weren’t the sharpest, and yet they encouraged him to self-educate his way to becoming an attorney.
