You have homework this weekend.

submitted by neolithic to TellUpgoat 2.6 yearsSep 10, 2021 17:08:31 ago (+5/-3)     (TellUpgoat)

This weekend I want you to go into your closet, garage, storage, bedroom or livingroom and throw out 3 things you don't need. Not three things you haven't used (although they're related). I want you to throw out 3 things you wouldn't/couldn't take with you if you had to bug out in the mtns.

Report back.

In 1 month we'll repeat the process.

This weekend I want you jack asses of the world to fuck off and mind your own business.

Yeah fuck off, it'll just lead to them being bought later and thus a waste of money. I'll save every shekel I can.

i need my stuff, goy.

Need no, but you're damn sure I want it. I worked my ass off to obtain what I have, and every cent I throw away is a portion of my life even more wasted than it already was. Even broken things often have salvageable parts to repurpose which would cost a few dollars to buy new.

You worked your ass off to obtain stuff you don't need. Money better spent on foodstuffs or gold.

You don't need a computer, but here you are criticizing me on it. I'm sure you were also sitting in a chair at a desk when you wrote that, both of those things you also don't need. But you bought them anyway instead of food or gold, and you also aren't going to get rid of them needlessly are you?

Smoothbrain logic.

You can keep your computer as well. Just throw other shit out. Everything I own can be put into a full sized van.

I moved this year and dumped so much junk and sold so much on eBay, everything I own besides my car fits in a large room. I'm covered for a decade, but this is good advice.

E: Also, after the initial trepidation of throwing out something that could be used in the future (haha, more like never), you feel like a virtual weight has been lifted off you. At least, that was my experience. I am so glad I massively purged my belongings.

I have jews, niggers, and spics in my garage. Can we remove them all permanently?

Just burn that fucking garage, say it must have been jewish lightning when you talk to the insurance company.

Oh, insure the fuck out of it and board it up before said burning.

Better to have it and not need it.

Decluttering is good. Actually cleaning is good too.

I used to always have problems decluttering and tried Marie Kondo's methods but they only went so far.

The only one who addressed the real issues as to why I was holding onto things was Tracy McCubbin and her brilliant book "Making Space, Clutter Free."

If anyone out there is stuck getting rid of things, read her book!

Here is a link to a downloadable pdf and one to an epub if you can't afford to buy the original book now.

That looks like an interesting book, thank you!

When I buy a pair of shoes, I throw another pair out. Keeps it under control.
