A locked down tower block in Sydney is having their alcohol deliveries confiscated and they're being put under strict booze rations, according to one of the residents.

The article has contradictory statements offered by two different authorities.

The Sydney Local Health District spokeswoman confirmed there were limits in place, but the police claim they aren't confiscating alcohol.

The ration in place is as follows:

Residents are allowed to receive a ration of one of the following: six beers or pre-mixed drinks, one bottle of wine, or one 375ml bottle of spirits.
