These new tags are alternatives for all and subscribed. I also added one called "default" which displays the sites default subs.

Selecting a tag will persist until you change it, or until your current session expires.

Some subs might not fit or could fit better elsewhere. I will tweak these later.

I was originally going to go with exactly that, "race realism" but changed it to capture more subs. Hate isn't leftist or bad. That's their brainwashing working on you. But I am going to make some changes and I agree with making that tag more specific because subs like FPH don't mesh well with the rest of the content.

Could you make "Race" and "Hate" separate categories? I agree with @rotteuxx that just discussing race and racial differences shouldn't be umbrellaed with "hate"...

Also, am I correct in saying that if one wanted to literally view "all the posts" that "default would be the option to choose?

The thing is I have no idea how Ruqqus works, never used it. I visited there once and liked how they did their avatars and implemented similar here. That is my extent of experience with Ruqqus.

The recent changes to bans says otherwise. Being the anti-reddit is the energy that drives this place. I am not the one who wants to lock this place down, that comes from other users here. My goal is to offer freedom and options to deal with other people's freedom. It's that simple.

Ruqqus does have a nice interface and experience. But the admins started with putting subs into categories to make them less visible. Then a year later outright nuked all of those subs and their mods.

That makes sense. This feature gives more visibility to subs and posts though. My reasoning for it is /all is supposed to be a crazy wild place, and being able to filter content is a good remedy to that. It's worth noting a sub can be excluded from all, (no legit subs have yet except spam subs like /v/randomnumbers), and this feature gives those subs more visibility as well.

It doesn't work (or else I'm doing something wrong which is likely).

I went to the hobby set.

I saw a post in v/ArtsAndCrafts. I went to the sub in general and when I clicked on "new" I was brought to the earliest posts in the hobby set, not the individual sub.

If I'm interested in a sub that's in a set I should be able to navigate around that sub independently, no?

Edit: I then went to my v/Knitting sub. I clicked on "new" to see what the latest posts in the sub might be but was brought to the latest set of "hobby" posts (https://www.voat.xyz/v/hobby?view=new). This stinks! I have to manually change the url to read https://www.voat.xyz/v/knitting?view=new in order to see the latest posts in that sub.

Make subs independent from categories again!

Let us group subs into personalized sets if we want but don't group them into sets according to your whim/best estimates and then make navigating the set/subs impossible.

Final edit: I had to manually change the url to get out of "hobby" to "all". I went to my v/Crochet sub. I clicked on "new" at the top of the sub's page and it went to all/new. No, I wanted to go to crochet/new lol. I had to manually change the url to get there. Very annoying.

Switching back to all would solve the problem but I see your point with clicking new/hot/etc in a sub while in a set, I will get that ironed out.

It is simply more viewing options in addition to all and default. On voat.co and here, subs can posts can be excluded from /all. Having more options like this is a good way for that content to still get views. Also at some point I may switch the default view away from /all like it was on voat.co, so switching between these 'modes' will be common practice eventually.

Whats wrong with people choosing between all (minus what they blocked) default (minus what they blocked) or their subscription of subs, or choosing an individual sub to view?

If someone chooses to exclude their post from an "all" category, it SHOULD also then be excluded from whatever other umbrella category someone chooses to create. Seems that choosing to exclude from all would also be a choice to be excluded from anything other than the sub it was posted in, its a choice not to be broadcasted to people who arnt choosing to specifically view that sub.

Can people not already view with all the above options? Whats the point of having yet more?

I surely hope that switching between those modes doesnt become the common practice eventually. People can choose what subs to subscribe to, people can choose to view all, people can choose to view more niche subs that dont show up on all (do they really not show up when sorting by all/new? Or do they not show up in the sub "all"?) I dont think that trying to create curated categories is a good idea, or will help with exposure if people are choosing not to be in an umbrella category to begin with.

When browsing by all, all subs that havent been blocked should show up, choosing not to post to all shouldnt stop this, though it should stop it from being posted to the sub "all" or whatever other umbrella organization there may be, but choosing to view by all, should show all posts to all subs. In this way, by sorting by all/new, everyone will see everything, even the most niche post. If we move away from that habit, and into your curated umbrella categories, people WONT see as much. Those niche posts will be MORE hidden. Im never going to choose to view the "knitting and sewing" category or whatever, but i will see those posts because i browse by ALL.

Creating little corners for people to hide themselves and their posts in is terrible. It creates pockets of degenerate infection that could go unnoticed and bring the site down with illegal content. Same with the anon subs that should absolutely not be a thing. Same thing with encouraging people to block degenerate content and spam and other faggotry instead of downvoting and telling them off.

These seems to wholly be a bad move to make the place overall worse, to weaken our immune system, to further hide certain things and make people viewing the site for trad wives type posts never see the other vital information on racial crimes, jews, political news, etc. Making even more subdivisions of viewing just means people sink further into echo chambers and dont get exposed to all the womderful things that show up in subs that are in nonway categorical related to their interests.
