It actually looks more like they are setting themselves up as the "saviors" as well has the most effected victims. The harm that this is causing can't be covered up forever. There are a lot of resources dedicated to silencing dissent. When they are ready to move on to the next deception they will reveal the truth, but spin it to their benefit. They can't just carry on the lies and censorship forever.
