Ennio Morricone was brilliant. He had the gift of melodies like Mozart and could play forcefully on intervals like Beethoven. Another one of my favorites is Once Upon a Time in the West, where the singer jumps up a sixth and then another sixth. It's only a descending major triad, yet going up in pitch, and that makes all the difference. The theme of this GBU song is also really mundane on paper. It's almost rejectable, but Morricone makes it a masterpiece.
