If they don't accept cash, then you don't need to give them your business.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:17:30 ago (+2/-0)

Best way to do this is all-cash-all-the-time. Don't carry cards. You might miss a meal though.

Not even a debit card?

Debt is a separate issue. This is about monitoring and controlling your movement and spending.

Keyword is Debts. So if they have already entered a contract with you. No obligation to create one.

In my country the nitty gritty of it is they can have a "no cash accepted sign" at the front of the store and theb legally refuse your cash, but they can't have no sign at the entrance, scan your stuff and then when you hand cash to pay refuse it, because at that point there is a debt/contract. However grey area is if there only "cash only" sign at the register and they have not verbally announced it to you, it depends on how obvious the sign is really.

If there is no debt they can just refuse you service, like any baker, for any reason.

Support those who take cash while and if you can.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:15:44 ago (+6/-3)

You pay in advance. The items aren't yours until you pay. There is never any debt. A business absolutely can say what payment they'll accept. Don't pretend to be a Jew lawyer.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:49:54 ago (+1/-0)

At least we know he's not a jew, because he is not able to twist the law into fucked up self-serving permutations of the intent.

[ - ] Flabbygasted 3 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:53:42 ago (+4/-1)

Bringing something up to a counter doesnt mean you are under contract to buy it and there is no debt owed.

There is no specific law prohibiting this practice for private businesses. Digital currency is still considered cash. The only exemption I have ever seen is for tickets, a car being towed, gov obligations...that kind of stuff.

You're partially right. the key term is "debts" . in cash and carry stores, you haven't encured any debt as of yet because the transaction hasnt been enacted yet or they haven rendered a service yet.

places that render the service before requiring payment like restaurants, drs, massage places, barbers, bars and the like fall under this because you have been rendered a service and have incurred a debt.

[ - ] Splooge 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:19:18 ago (+2/-0)

This, it's a very important distinction.

[ - ] try 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 2, 2021 03:39:15 ago (+0/-0)

Need DEBT, like after service rendered, or after meal eaten, or after checking out of motel

NEED DEBT to force them to take cash. And you are only allowed a max of 25 of each coin type, the rest being paper.

God I hate accronyms, half the time I have to google them. WEF = World Economic Forum.

Acronym? He's just yelling the word "wef." You're not familiar with wef?

"The wef is gone shopping at the market."

Just walk out with the merchandise….if they try to stop you…display the cash and tell them they can’t refuse it….then pull your credit card out, lick front and back, and hand it to cashier….be sure to spit on it too…

[ - ] Flabbygasted 5 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:10:41 ago (+5/-0)

Tell them you are an Afghani refugee with no access to bank accounts. Tell them you will call the local elected officials and say they are supporting ISIS-KKK by refusing you service.

[ - ] yesiknow 5 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 09:31:14 ago (+5/-0)

That's the stupidest, most dangerous thing they could ever do.
You should send them letters on paper telling them that the end of cash will forever destroy anyone's ability to have financial autonomy and will create mass poverty by limiting what they themselves can earn.

[ - ] Teefinyomouf 5 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:12:45 ago (+6/-1)

That's like complaining to your cell mate about the prison guards. He doesn't give a shit. As a business, he's a committed lifer. Cashless + 24/7 surveillance is where we're headed. We're practically there. You're a lifer too, whether you accept it or not.

I went to my local bank branch last week. All the employees were wearing masks. I wasn't.

I sat with an agent in her cubicle and she had a plexiglass wall on her desk between her computer setup and whatever desk space a customer may need.

The plexiglass wall had a slot cut out at the bottom. It's where she asked me to slide my debit card to her so she could verify my account.

OF COURSE she picked up my card with her bare hands, confirmed my account number, and slid it back to me without a beat. The point is, with all that "protection", she did nothing to sanitize my card and didn't wear gloves. And she didn't use hand sanitizer between holding my card and using her keyboard. She didn't even ask me to wear a mask.

It's all a joke and a charade. If people really believed there was a pandemic, they'd be walking around in Hazmat suits.

Did you see any of those employees wearing masks and gloves and sanitizing the customers' cards or machines between uses?

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:56:07 ago (+2/-0)

Germs can't go around plexiglass. In fact, they commit suicide upon the realization that they have encountered a plexiglass wall. If you sit behind a plexiglass barrier you will eventually suffocate because air will not pass around it either. It doesn't matter what side you are on. Liberals will completely understand this.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer 2 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 13:03:46 ago (+2/-0)

I had this problem at a fed ex shipping store. I called before I went and asked specifically if they accepted cash. They told me yes, of course. Well, I get there, pack up my things in a box, tape them shut nice and tightly. Get to the counter, go through all the crap of answering questions about not shipping anything illegal or explosives. Kid tells me to swipe for payment. They don’t accept cash. Told him I specifically called about this. They do accept cash but not at this location. Thank God there was an elderly gentleman who offered to use his card for me and I gave him my cash. I even offered the nice guy an extra $20.00, he refused to take it. Moments like that make me feel like there are still decent people in this country.

No cash no sale

[ - ] mongre 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 19:03:36 ago (+1/-0)

The best is if it's a restaurant. Enjoy all the fixins, lots of beer. When they say sorry, we don't accept cash, say oh well that's all I have. You have fulfilled your obligation of offering payment and they have refused legal tender. You are done. No need to discuss the matter further, just walk out. They turned your consideration down.

If it's a store I just pile shit up, grab thing after thing, be the guy at the register grabbing shit off the shelves saying "oh...is it too late can I add this?" Eat a candy bar saying..."man I am so hungry"

Sorry...I only have cash. What do you mean you don't accept legal tender in the US? Are you nuts? Rinse and repeat until they get the message.

[ - ] voatymcvoatface 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 17:31:52 ago (+1/-0)

Leave cash on counter. take picture. leave. I do this when the fucking line is too long. I don't fucking work for your garbage company. I don't fucking care about your policies. Just be happy I am honest and you aren't on fire for being a faggot.

[ - ] UncleDoug 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:01:57 ago (+1/-0)

Illegal, physical currency is still legal tender until the government says otherwise, which is never.
Its a company policy to not accept notes and coin, in which case just fill the car up and drive off.

[ - ] Rotteuxx 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:31:24 ago (+1/-0)

Legally they can refuse cash if it's posted at the door.

Where it gets cloudy is with human rights, since debit & credit cards aren't required by law it could easily be argued that its discrimination and causes you prejudice, therefore exposing the business to lawsuits.

[ - ] 1Icemonkey 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 09:26:25 ago (+2/-1)

Good. Hoard your cash then. Besides, the dope man doesn’t take credit cards.

[ - ] Flabbygasted 8 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 10:05:24 ago (+8/-0)

If you're gonna hoard, turn it into precious metals. We've all seen the photos of defunct currency being used as kindling and insulation.

I never pay in cash, but I am not going to patronize a place that does not accept it. Neither should you. And I'm sure you can convince locals not to either. Put up fliers in the area explaining to people that a cashless society is an unnecessary step towards totalitarianism/fascism and oppression. List the local businesses that they should avoid and list alternatives.

If nothing else other local businesses will see those and think twice about joining the cogs in the oppression machine.

[ - ] ForgottenMemes 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 16:28:52 ago (+0/-0)

Even when the enemy has us shackled and assraping us, there will be some kind of workaround. "If I shift my hips a little bit, maybe the assraping wont be so uncomfortable." At what point do we stop relying on workarounds and just do what is right? Before or after the assrapings?

[ - ] oldblo 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:54:42 ago (+0/-0)

You may as well have said "Things are exactly as you already knew."
People are opposed to the state of things for good reasons.
Reminding them of the state of things and implying they should comply with it is an unreasonable thing and shouldnt be passed of as trying to reason with anyone.

[ - ] Thisismyaccount 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 11:58:56 ago (+0/-0)

I was merely suggesting an option he could use or reject. Nothing more. Meanwhile i am denigrated for trying to help someone out. So i give up. But people have to remember that store manager or owner probably believes all the covid propaganda and is scared shitless of catching it. So i suggested a work around nothing more.

[ - ] oldblo 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 12:25:49 ago (+1/-0)

Your option is the choice between compliance and total rejection. The only choices they were left with and an entirely redundant suggestion unless one wished to downplay the severity of being limited to using intangible currency placed under the eyes and control of another.

Compliance is not a workaround it is capitulation and it encourages more of the same. As for fearing corona tainted money that hardly holds weight considering this has been going on for a year.

[ - ] Thisismyaccount 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 12:38:55 ago (+0/-0)

Well it is happening and won't be going away anytime soon. So do what you think is right for , as i will be doing the same for myself. This is like last year when someone argued about the mask mandate. And i said i would rather wear a mask for 10 minutes than pay a 1000.00 dollar fine . simple economics dude. same as with my suggestion. it is up to him to accept or reject it. either is fine with me. I will use my debit card or find ANOTHER store that will accept cash. I was using my god given logic when making that suggestion.

[ - ] oldblo 1 point 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 12:50:36 ago (+1/-0)

Your god given logic has some thick slave mentality mixed in. Fine for some but repulsive to the point of contempt for others.

[ - ] SparklingWiggle 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 12:03:22 ago (+1/-1)

Depends on if you like assrapings. I think Thisismyaccount looks forward to them. He said in another comment he has been robbed twice so he only carries $10-$20 at any time, so if he gets robbed agsin that's all they get. Who the fuck plans to get robbed? I plan to kill a motherfucker who threatens me.

[ - ] Flabbygasted 0 points 3.7 yearsSep 1, 2021 17:27:24 ago (+0/-0)

I guess some people are just too scared to stand up for themselves. That's a crazy mentality...take the easy route, even when it means bowing down.
